The Obsession began early for Sydney singer/songwriter Braden Evans. Raiding his Dad’s record collection to make mix tapes of The Beatles, making up songs using two tape players to record a beat and playback while singing and recording into the other, learning to play guitar chords with 6 rubber bands strapped to the back of a ruler.

In a bold move to further develop his song craft, Braden sold all his electric guitars and amps in exchange for an acoustic guitar and began work with a producer, creating stripped back, intimate songs with personal lyrics. In 2026 Braden has been focused on writing and recording raw and personal songs with a indie/folk, alt Country feel, inspired by artists like Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton & Gregory Alan Isakov.
